Cash Register Connection for EC Terminals
The cash register connection for EC terminals uses a manufacturer-independent communication protocol. Two variants are available: OPI (Open Payment Initiative) and ZVT. In both cases, the EC device connects to the cash register via a TCP/IP connection, network cable, or serial cable.
The key advantage of a cash register connection is the automatic transfer of the payment amount from the cash register to the terminal, minimizing typing errors. Additionally, payment receipts can be printed directly together with the till receipt.
